July 9th, 2006: This car is sold back to a friend of mine, and I'm now the owner of a 1993 Mazda RX-7 R1. Re-arranging my priorities in what I want out... Show more of my vehicles, and the 86 wasn't going to fit. It's all good though cause my friend is willing to let me drive it pretty much anytime I want. I do miss it, but I need something with a bit more pep. :) Check out the new additions to my car family on my cardomain site.
January 20th, 2006 update. Got my LSD in finally. Only, Toysports sent me a TRD instead of a Kaaz. They NEVER ordered the Kaaz! 5 months we've waited and this bullshit. Don't ever do business with them. Anyway, leaving the car at a shop less than a mile from my work and having it put in on the 24th. Also found out today that the rear wheel studs aren't long enough for the watanabes. Don't even have a full 3 turns on the lug nuts! Been asking around what my options are, but looks like I'm going to have to find a good machine shop to help me since aftermarket looks wack. The car has quickly turned into a money pit. Oh well. Hopefully it'll be somewhat ready for some drifting at Qualcomm in February. I can only hope anyway...
January 10th, 2006 update. Car is home. Found out a couple things. Fuel and Oil Gauge aren't working, need to replace right front turn signal bulb, and the OEM LSD is definetly on the edge of death itself. My friend still hasn't gotten the Kaaz 2 way LSD for the car, so he may just fund me the difference and I'll either rebuild the OEM, or find one elsewhere. Man these 86 clutches pwn the hell out of me. No friction zone makes things a biatch in stop and go traffic. Definetly gonna drive the hell out of it and master that clutch once the LSD issue has been resolved. Don't think the high comp 16valve is gonna satisfy me for long, so this summer I'll be dropping in a 20v blacktop and tuning the N/A hell out of it. Pics should be posted of the car next to the S13 this weekend when I have time(and daylight?)
December 16th, 2005. My newest project. It's a 1986 AE86 Hatchback GT-S model. A friend of mine who I deal with alot of JDM parts, was selling it, and I snatched it up while I had the chance(and $). It has front coilovers, front stb, 2 way Kaaz LSD, exhaust, TRD Headers, custom intake, watanabe wheels, Trueno front bumper, CF Hood, and a high compression 4AG. The rear interior has been completely stripped and gutted, though I'm not sure if I have plans to put the original interior back in or not. Still trying to figure out what I want to do with the car, besides just a fun car to screw around in. In the interior shot, you can see the rear of my S13 Silvia at the body shop getting all it's work done. I'll try and have more pics up soon. Sorry for the lack of quality, but they were taken with my Verizon phone. Check back later.
December 21st 2004: The TRD wing I had for it, I traded as a downpayment for an S13 blacktop SR20 for my S13 project car as I finally came to my senses that the OEM look in the rear is best. I also bought AE-111 front seats for 150 from my friend and they should be on it by this weekend.
