Our 'project' car ( : A couple months ago me and my boyfriend bought this 93 hatchback for $800. It was suppost to be a beater car but we fell in lov... Show moree with it and decided to fix it up as a normal car. It had some work that needed to be done to the quarter panel and it needed to be sanded and reprimed. The motor ran kind of shitty and the tranny was about to go. It was time for an extreme makeover ( ; (still a lot left to do)
The exterior wasn't too bad. We bondoed the spots that needed to be fixed and evened everything out. We sanded the whole car and re-primered it black. Just needs wetsanding and a little bit of TLC.
The interior was really bad. There was mud everywhere, dust, smoke film, they painted the interior silver and it was chipping off. It took me about 2-3 days to clean the interior of the car. I shampood the carpet. Took the silver painted interior pieces, stripped them, primered them and painted them gloss black. My boyfriend helped me rip out the old torn up carpet. Cleaned everything real good.... lots of lysol lol. Now it looks as good as new!
The rims that came on the car were some really beat up 16" wheels. Lots of curb rash and scratches. My boyfriend bought some used LS mesh wheels with tires. I stripped them with aircraft paint remover, sanded them down good, and painted them bronze. They turned out really nice. We have plans on painting the car *white* which I think will look really nice with the bronze wheels.
THE MOTOR SWAP... the motor that came in the car wasn't even the stock motor. It was a wierd d15. We put an LS B18b1 in there with 40,000 miles on it. The car feels like it is brand new again. It is 10x faster than it was before. No more putting and knocking ( :
Future plans would be full catback exhaust, a new paint job (white), carbon fiber hood and chin spoiler, black housing headlights with jdm amber corner lights, black racing seats, header, cold air intake, new lowering springs, shocks, struts.
Stock headlights. Soon to be replaced ( :
The B18. I painted the intake and the valve cover. It will looker better soon. Look at that ugly rusty header and dirty engine... EEK.
These are the rims that came on the car.
These are the LS wheels we bought.
After I stripped them.
The finished project.
A lot better.
Goodbye ugly exhaust. (the muffler stuck out like 6 inches from the bumper haha.)
I was bored so I thought.. why not go all out lol!
