RESTORATION & MODIFICATIONS
Since buying the car recently I have gone about giving it a "make over". The following are some before and after ph... Show moreotos:
Stage I
Suspension height (lowered by 2"):
Engine Bay (detailed, polished rocker cover, braided hosing, strut brace):
Interior (replaced stock seats with R32 GT-R buckets, replaced stock wheel with wooden wheel):
Wheels (polished):
Other mods include:
* K&N Air Filter
* Extractors
* 2.5" tail-pipe
* Electric fan upgrade
At this stage the car was been dyno'd at 80 rear-wheel kilowatts, which equates to 105 hp, or approximately 145 hp at the flywheel - a little above factory:
Stage II
Here we refreshed the paint and panel work, largely on the right-hand side, where there was considerable rust in the front guard - so that guard got replaced.
Then the car got repainted:
Finally the interior is now all leather, and the carpet is new.
Stage III
Next step was to remove the automatic transmission and slip in a factory 5-speed. The car then pulled 90 rwKW, so shows how much the automatic slowed it down. I also added a short-throw shift kit from Motorsport Auto.
Then on to the serious part. The head was removed, match-ported and polished, and shaved to increased the compression to 9.6:1. We added a stage 1 camshaft. Now the car pulls 103 rwKW, which equates to about 180 hp net - much better!
Here is a picture of the head being shaved: Show Less
