You'll notice that I replaced the stock wheels/tires with classic 15" Cragars and Daytona tires....
He replaced the lower door skins and bottom front fender corners. You early Fairlane fans know how those bottom fender corners go bad. Show Less
Even better was the fact that it had the 352 V8 Intercepter and 3-speed Cruise-o-matic transmission.After I rebuilt the carb and got it running OK, I found r... Show moreeverse didn't work so well, but the three forward gears shifted smoothly. A transmission flush and band adjustment took care of that.I then rebuilt the starter as well as the generator, and had a new core put in the radiator.But one of the exhaust manifolds was cracked, there were oil leaks, and I wanted a totally reliable car to drive and take to shows, so the engine was next.......A friend and I pulled the 352 in his shop, and I took it to a machine shop for a total rebuild.
With the engine out and being rebuilt, I completely cleaned and detailed the engine compartment.
A few weeks later..... Solid lifters and all! Another pal of mine powder-coated some select engine components to set it off.
