I cannot express to you how saddened I am about his loss, but I hope his conservational efforts will live on in his children and the Australia Zoo. Crocs Rule!
Here's some pics of when I visited the new Larry Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT. We were able to get in "free" because my dad got a 2006 Lexus RX400h, and it came with two passes to the raceway, as well as opportunities to ride in or drive some '07 Lexus's, and take an exhilarating once-in-a-lifetime ride in one of the park's 2006 Mustang GT's that are built for racing in all aspects.
Here's the two videos we got:
These were two of the Mustangs they had there. They originally had four, but it was so hot and the cars had been running all day long that one of them died. I got to ride in the Mustang with the best and by far, the fastest driver, who was pulling the e-brake and drifting around every turn, and in the straitaway, was at 140 mph!
This was the new Lexus ES350. Nice, but I liked this one:
This was the car I got to drive on the racetrack, a 2007 Lexus IS350, the fastest one of them all. 306 hp and 0-60 in 5.37 seconds. One of the professional drivers would lead the line of Lexus's in one of the Mustangs and we'd all follow. Let me tell ya, even at only around 40-70 mph, driving on the track is harder than it looks! It was really fun though, I never thought I'd be able to drive on a real racetrack, especially when all I own is a truck.
Other drivers were allowed later to bring their own cars onto the track and participate in the "Lead & Follow." This Subaru STI and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution came together to take a stab at it.
Which is why I wonder why the lucky guy who owns this beast didn't take the chance! I believe it's a 2004 Ferrari 575M. Like that license plate?
Here's my pathetic attempt to take a picture of the inside.
And here are some pics of my friend's 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe:
And here she is with her car:
Here's something that was purely coincidental, but interesting nonetheless:
This is my mum's red 1982 Xtra-cab Datsun Pickup. She needed it for the Great Pyrenees she had then, but it's kinda cool how 24 years later, I happened to get the exact same truck, except 17 years newer. She later had a '84 Nissan truck as well, with an awesome aftermarket paint job, but this is the best pic we have of it. The dogs are Rivo (the Pyrenees) and Mooser.
