My Police Oil Cooler install. It was a real B1tch.
here's the kit
It uses the coolant to keep the oil cool
After draining the coolant, and taking off th... Show moree oil filter I had to get the nipple out of the engine block that the oil filter screws into. This nipple is just a short piece of pipe with threads on the out side and nothing to latch onto inside it.
So I had to use a pipe easy-out, with a big azz cheater bar.
Here's a pic of the extension I had to use, there is no room up in there to move and the cheater bar I used.
It would only move with alot of force, after I heated the block up and froze the nipple to try and make it smaller. I ended up splitting the end of the nipple, so I had to cut the split part off, and get that easy out deep into the part that was in the block. It really tore it up.
After that damn nipple was out it was a breeze.
install the cooler, route the hoses
Put the new filter on and do the radiator hoses. Easy as pie!
I noticed my oil temp dropped from 210 to 185-190.
I also put in a new lower 185 T-stat and updated the fan relays so the fans kicked on to keep my car cooler from 215-220 to 180-185ish Show Less
