06-28-07Been a hectic month and havent been able to post alot. Here are some pics from a ... Show morelittle excursion a friend and I took in his 97 Jeep Wrangler. Talk about the road less taken. This is up on an old U.S. Forestry access road going to the summit of The Appalachians.
05-23-07 Started working on some cosmetic repairs today. The trim, fender flares, door panels, and the roll bars were looking pretty weathered. Decided that this was probably the easiest place to start to help with the Jeep's appearance.
As you can see, the rails for the soft top and the roll bars were in pretty bad shape. So I took them all off and sanded them down and applied 2 coats of primer. I painted over them with Krylon hammer finish paint. This leaves a semigloss, slightly rough looking finish.
The fender flares were not in much better shape. They were faded and oxidized. For these I used Dupli-Color black trim paint.
The door panels were probably in the worst condition. To restore them I used Dupli-Color interior vinyl/fabric paint.
As soon as I am finished, I will put the after pics here.
05-16-07 OK, so just today I made the first changes. Met a guy who had a set of American Racing AR-767 wheels. Offered them extremely cheap, so I bought them. They aren't perfect, but they look much better than the old wheels on the Jeep.
And here is how it looks now:
Overall a huge change in appearance. I think they make the Jeep look bigger. More pictures after I get them cleaned up.
05-09-07 I just bought this Jeep Wrangler YJ a week ago and have big plans for it. It already has a 3" suspension lift, 1 " body lift, and 32" mud tires. I will start building off this. More pictures to follow as I make upgrades. Show Less
