I had the worst love-hate relationship with this car. This was my baby 1993 BMW 325is. This car was pampered! Always parked far from other cars and shopping ... Show morecarts. If you are like me, I'm sure you understand the idiot drivers out there! Especially the ones that find it amusing to park beside these beautiful cars.
This was her when I first got her. It was love at first sight when I saw her at Mills Nissan.
Here, I changed the signal lights to clear and added eyebrows. Front windows also got tinted. And baby got new shoes (tires & rims) for the summer.
Here, she took part in a rally here in Edmonton.
In this picture, I quickly discovered (my first car show) that BMW's aren't that popular in Vegreville. Everyone seemed more interested in Mopar stuff. I did over hear one comment - someone thought my car was new.
Bimmerfest (2004) in Calgary was a blast! My baby was at her best there! My husband even brought down his '88 BMW 750IL to show. He was giving a few people tips on how to make the paint shine like ours did. The show was held behind Tunerworks and then we all drove off to Banff. It was AMAZING seeing so many BMW driving down the highway together!
Here were the bad time with this car. Within the first year of owning her, someone tried to park next to her in London Drugs on 51 ave Edmonton. They (probably a truck) ended up denting and scratching from under the door handle all the way down to the rear tail light. Never did find out who hit it.
Dean from Modern Autobody (Edmonton) did a fantastic job fixing her.
This was from South Edmonton Common Cineplex Movie theatre. Obviously a truck with a possible trailer hitch ball (SHOULD BE BANNED WHEN NOT IN USE!!!!). They backed right into her. Modern Autobody replaced a headlight, trim, one grill and the hood. Another hit & run.
Again, excellent job from Modern Autobody!
This one took place in '05. I was rear ended on Hwy 60 right in front of Devon. Know the game Shuffleboard? That's what this was like. A truck rear ended me and shunted me into the ditch. This one didn't try and run from the accident like previous ones. He was nice enough to try and tow me out of the ditch. A couple of other guys stopped to help shovel this poor lowered Bimmer out. Modern Autobody did another great job fixing her up. I think Dean over there knows me by voice now.
This was my baby's final accident in September '05. Leaving St. Albert, ironically from a dr's appointment. This was on 178 Street & north of 137 ave. They have new lights at that intersection. As I approached the red light, a truck (ALWAYS a truck!!!) was in the ditch trying to get out. I gave him space (alot) to get out and into my lane. The dork finally got out and decided to do a U-turn just as the light went green. Ironically a BMW 750 (just like the one that my husband recently sold) smucked the truck and did a 180 degree spin towards my car and smoked her! The truck and the 750 were immediate write offs! We weren't sure about mine until my insurance company went to visit her at Modern Autobody. She needed a whole new front end, one rim, and her steering rack was shot.
To this day, I really don't know if someone bought her at auction to rebuild her or to strip her down. As much as I'd love to know what her fate was, maybe it's good that I don't. Today.... I still search the roads for her. Show Less
