Wheels before and after restoration: 8 Grueling hours...
I spent about 8 hours restoring these, average 2 hours... Show more per wheel. I pulled each wheel from the car and used plain old comet on them. Once I had all the brake dust, caked on mess etc off, I scrubbed the inside of each wheel and dark stained areas with a steel brush. I next took water and 0000 steel wool pads and wheel cleaner and scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed, like I said ... for about 2 hours per wheel. Once they were thoroughly cleaned I then used a wheel polish make them shine. Now each time i wash them they will turn out clean. I went to the ZNATIONALS in Atlanta in March '07 and I washed them and just ran the 0000 steel wool over them (about 5 minutes per wheel), and the morning of the show after i washed the car i rubbed them with wheel polish. My wheel score on the judging of my car was an 8. Good luck and get ready to blow 8 hours, but if you keep them up afterwards they are no big deal....
