Update (07/06/05): Just got a call. The darn thing is finally done. I can pick it up, plate it, insure it, get it home, and let the festivities begin. As of ... Show moreright now I have no solid plans...or money...but hey, who needs'em!
Update (30/05/05): I've since had two balljoints and the idler arm replaced. I then noticed 3 holes in the floor...damn PEI. So, I took out the carpet'n seats and sent it off to be re-floored. I've also taken off that damned sound deadener. Talk about a water trap. Sure, my car will be loud inside...but I'll not be redoing my floors. I also need to replace one manifold (ditch'em for headers if I can :p), and the leaky power steering pump. Because power steering is just about the only "power" piece of machinery I have, and I'm not ready to give it up just yet.
Well, it's out. At the time these pictures were taken, it was still dirty, and I was trying to use Lampshade's super-fantastic red rocket of ultimate doom to get it started. Too bad his battery blew chunks. And for the record, 8 inches below the top of the fender, tucked underneath the coolant overflow tank, is NOT a good place to put a battery. Damned GM engineers.
Alright, on with the photos:
above is my car and Lampy's Monte as I prepared it for a boost. Yes, that's me standing over his engine bay, and yes, I'm really that thin.
Cudos to Lampshade for hunting down the damage that happened in the storage barn. That scratch is down to bare-frickin' metal at one part. Awh well...
An angled shot of the two cars...that's...it. My car is still dead in this shot, Lampshade's car was burbling happily through his rotted catalytic converters and mufflers :p
Lampshade catches my engine just as it roars to life...although, there was really no roaring involved until I stomped on the gas to scare Lamp and my brother. See the new battery? I bet you did, you car nut you. Not shown is my fancy new $6.00 air filter. Total cost just to get my car RUNNING: $150.00 (roughly). And yes, my engine coolant is just THAT empty. Give it time, would you? :p
A fine pic of the exhaust tip, and my open trunk. In said trunk was the trim for inside my doors, taken off so the car could be undercoated and never reinstalled. Also residing in the trunk is the vanity plate that came on the car; "Get in, sit down, shut up and HOLD ON!" Trust me, this car doesn't have enough go to deserve that plate...yet. Show Less
