FOR SALE $4500!!
I have for sale a:
1995 Volkswagen Jetta III GLX VR6
It has 103k miles, 90% of which is highway miles. The car runs fantastic, the clutch ... Show morehas a lot of life left on it, and the tires are brand new. CLEAN TITLE The car is fully loaded with the following options:
175hp 2.8liter V6 (purrs like a dream!)
6 disc CD changer/Premium sound
Heated seats
Black leather interior
Power windows
Power locks
Cruise Control
BBS wheels
New tires
New VW OEM intake
Much much more!
There are a few things wrong with the car that are simple and do not affect everyday driving whatsoever, but do take away from the car's value:
1.) The heater core needs replacement. A heater core bypass has already been put into place. This means that the car runs perfectly, but not heater is available. Perfect for a person who lives in Southern California/Florida, etc., or for the DIY VW person (the core itself is about $100 tops, but the dash needs to be removed in order for the core to be replaced).
2.) The AC is temperamental. I recently had the drier, compressor, and receiver replaced and the system recharged with freeon, but it still does not seem to work. I drive with the windows down and haven't put much more work into it than those parts and the recharge. Probably a very simple fix like a valve or a hose replacement.
3.) The rear right power window regulator needs to be replaced. I have already removed the old regulator and the new one need only be installed which would be a 15 minute job. I hope to have this done by the end of the week (today is March 1st) but I did not want this to stop me from putting the car up for sale. Another simple thing that does not require much worry at all, but I wanted to mention it. I am locating a regulator for less than $100.
Other small things:
1.) Right vanity fog lamp is missing. This is not an actual light, just a little piece of clear plastic made to blend with the turn signal/driving light. Probably a $5 part at a pull'n'grab junk yard.
2.) When the heater core went, it leaked anti-freeze on the passenger's side floor. It has been cleaned up mostly, but it needs a good shampoo job, but the carpet itself is black and does not show any staining.
3.) The recline knobs on the front seats are missing or broken (most Jetta seats end up this way). They can still be reclined, but the plastic covers are missing. The seats themselves are OH SO COMFORTABLE ;)
4.) Someone decided to pull the antenna off of my car one day when I was at the supermarket. My radio reception did not change much and the car actually looks better without it. Probably another $5 part at a pull'n'grab.
The car looks great, runs and drives as straight as an arrow, and has another 100k left in it. It is perfect for rush hour stop and go traffic or an extended road trip (last year I drove it from Florida to California and then to Idaho and back to California without a single hitch). The car consistently gets between 25 and 30mpg doing 70-80mph on the freeway and 20-23 mpg in town. It has had a full fuel system flush, cooling system flush, and has a brand new VW OEM intake.
Only $4500! With the heater core/AC operational she books for $6,600 in excellent condition, and with the heater core/AC non-functional she books for $5300.
