In the beginning, there was stock.
Then there was minor repairs and tint.
Then I decided I didn't like the rims on the GA, and since I'm trashing ... Show morethe Bonneville, I'd switch rims. I wanted to take this:
and put in place of this:
After consulting www.tires.com's tire calculator, I found that at 100mph in the GA with the Bonnie's tires, you'd actually be going 99.49mph. Not a big enough difference to worry about, eh? The GA (even though its a SE1 and has rims) had 205-70r 15s, while the Bonnie had 215-60r 16s. So, I took a tire off the Bonnie and just set it in front of the GA to see. (sorry the pics are a little low quality, i took them w/ my cell)
I liked it enough to try it, and 1 1/2hrs of jacking up each corner of both cars using the stock jacks and two sore arms later, I got this:
And the Bonnie turned into this:
That's a pic of the Bonnie on it's way to it's utter doom. Drove it down to my parents' place so they could donate it to the Kidney Foundation. All I need to do is take my stereo and speakers and whatever else of ours is in there, and she's a gonner.
My two Pontiacs together for the last time. Kinda sad, the Bonnie has served me well for many years.
4/18/06 - While my wife was leaving a parking lot, the people in front of her abrubtly stopped. She was quick to react, but got distracted by something and slightly removed her foot from the brake. The towing ball from the truck went through the passenger side of the bumper and the steel bumper crumpled up the hood a little. Kinds sucks, but that's what insurance is for. Hopefully looking up to shape again soon.
5/9/06 - Took the car into the body shop to be fixed. My insurance is going up anyway, might as well get it fixed, eh? I should have the car back by Friday.
5/11/06 - So I called the shop to ask about the progress on the car, and they said that they had to transfer me to the manager. My heart dropped, and I was scared. First thing that came to my mind was that something else was going to be wrong. All he wanted to tell me was that the car was done a day early and we could pick it up. She looks better than before.
8/6/06 - Put a 17th Street Surf Shop sticker on the trunk lid. Representin' the EC, baby! (I'll post pics after vacation)
9/11/06 - Paint is peeling off the rear bumper bad. I talked to the body shop where supposedly the work had been done. They had no record of it. I went to the dealership and they said they'd take care of that. Hopefully that will be done sometime this week.
5/30/07 - Still have done absolutely nothing to this car. Really no point until I'm done with my Storm. One of these days, I will put the mp3 cd player that I had in the Bonneville in Granny because it's better than the POS that's in there now.
6/6/07 - Car died. Couldn't figure out why. I went down the list of things that it could be. Afer looking at everything, I figured that it was a spark problem. I checked the spark comming off the tower, fine. So I pulled out the plugs. Look how dirty they are.
It's probably good that I changed them, but that wasn't the problem. It ended up being the fuel pump, even though I could hear it turn on. Haha. Well, back to fixing my Storm. Show Less
