It took me almost a month to finally getting around to changing the vacuum hoses. A common replacement is to go with silicone. I got some off of Amazon for... Show more about $16. Finally, this last Sunday, (May 25th, 2014), I had the time and the weather to attack the project. There wasn't a lot of information about where to find the hoses but I did learn that there are 10 hoses to replace. In the end, I located nine and replaced eight. One of the pictures I was using was on a slightly newer model and some of the locations were different. On the ninth one, that I found, it was in a very hard to reach location and the OEM hose looked to be in good condition. Most of the hoses were okay, there were about four of them that were completely shot as they had been in high temp areas. Three of them came off in parts.
As a side note, if you look in the left part of the picture, you can see some duct tape on one of the hoses coming off the engine. When I pulled off the cover, I found that there was a crack in the top of the hose. I wouldn't recommend duct tape as a permanent repair but it will do the trick while I wait to get the OEM hose from my local auto parts store.
After replacing the hoses, I immediately noticed that a lot of the rough idle had been cured and that the car seemed to be more responsive when driving. I still notice that there is some rough idling. It's possible that it could be coming from the 9th and 10th hose but more than likely there is something else that is causing the issue. Show Less

One thing that I did notice was that the right side fog lamp lens was busted. I am pretty certain that it wasn't busted when I did the sump drop. More than likely mine is failing. Yesterday, when I went to leave work, I tried to start the car and the key actually shuddered in the ignition. I had never experienced that before. This morning, when I tried to start it, it was hesitant to start. Since then, I have started it twice without issue. Show Less
One of the things that I noticed when I first got Saab was that the front and rear Saab emblems were faded to where you could no longer see them. I bought t... Show morewo off of eBay about a week a part from each other. The first was an OEM badge for the hood. The second, was a sticker for the trunk. The sticker allowed me to go with a different design than the OEM badge. Total costs for both was under $50. Not the most important repair I have ever made but it did allow me to easily check off an item to my ever growing list of things to do for the Saab. Show Less
