Ok now it is 2010 and again I have managed to find some time to work on the Tempest again. It started out as a simple add power steering project that go... Show moret bigger. While messing with different fan spacers I put a hole in the radiator. Since this drained all the coolant I decided it was as good a time as any to replace the 250 1BBL head with a higher compression 230 1BBL head. I had the 230 head mildly ported and installed 69 Sprint dual valve springs. Then I had my cam reground to a 69 230HP grind. Because of the regrind I had to put shims under the lifters and lash caps on the valve stems. I also replaced the 66 intake/exhaust and carb with the correct 69 intake/exhaust and carb.To give an idea of the time this has taken I got the 69 manifolds in 1991, 69 quadrajet in 2004, the power steering parts in 2005, the 67 230 head in 2006, the cam regrind in 2009, shims and lash caps 2010. All these years of collecting parts and one week to install them. Next is either a power disc brake conversion or 200R4 transmission conversion.
