Decided to paint the truck Sterling Grey Metallic which is not a factory colour for the year. Instead it's from the current series of F150's. I owned a 201... Show more1 and thought it was one of the nicest paints I've ever seen.
Currently considering changing what was going to be a solid 1 colour paint job to what Ford called the Custom Two-Tone in 83. The top and bottom would be a black (possibly Tuxedo Black Metallic) and the Sterling Grey Metallic would remain in the middle as well as the interior and engine bay.
Found a local shop to work on the truck not far from my house, very convenient.

I flew from Toronto to Spokane, WA and took a taxi out to the dealership to pick up the truck.
Unfortunately I had never owned a truck with manual locking h... Show moreubs before and didn't realize as I started the journey home that they were locked. Ended up blowing up the transfer case about 80 miles into the trip.
Got it repaired and drove it home topping up the oil and transmission fluids at every gas station stop. It also became disabled with a bad starter in Montana.
