The car is Yugo 55 from 83. The car was built in 97 with some modifications in 98. This year I couldn't afford it anymore, so I sold most of the equip... Show morement, but I still have the car waiting for better times. From the outside, Yugo got some modifications. It has new paint (havent seen rain in 3 years) with Lanzar stickers, dimmed rear windows, 185/50-14 tires on alloy wheels and wider bumpers. At the back, Yugo didn't need any suspension modification, because car dropped automatically with the weight of the gear installed, but in front car needed al-most 4 inch drop to receive correct line. From the outside car looks very fast, much better than original one. Inside the car, I put a lot of noise deadening material all over the car. The results are really impressive comparing to standard car. I carpeted everything with new carpets, even few places that were not originally carpeted. It is not obvious from the pictures, but car-peting is basically done in two colors. Dark gray for amplifier covers and subwoofer front plate, and light gray for the interior of the car: pillars, roof, doors, back side of seats. I also put new steering wheel and Recaro seats from Opel Astra GT and some minor modi-fications inside.
In the motor compartment everything is stock, even alternator, as this is not a serious car for competition. In the back I put 4 Exide top start batteries (98 kg altogether), 6 caps from Harrison labs 1/2 farad, one for each amplifier. All the cables were from Sound-quest and from the same supplier are also all electrical connectors.
For the head unit I use Nakamichi MCD1 indash CD player (in 97 Alpine 7939), than I have Lanzar E30 Equalizer, Lanzar G2M dynamic expander, Lanzar X3 crossover and Lanzar DA6 preamplifier for subs.
In the front end I have two DLS 8 inch midbass drivers in each door, powered with one Lanzar optidrive 2200 amp in 2 ohm stereo mode. For the mid and high I use 13 cm mid from DLS and DLS RC 1 tweeters, everything powered with Lanzar optidrive 2150 (4100 in bridge in '97) and original passive crossover.
Door panels are custom made from MDF and then carpeted. I had to put also electric windows, as original couldnt do the job anymore. Needless to say, doors received exten-sive amount of sound deadening material too. For the subwoofers I use 4 Lanzar DC15 4 ohm speakers. Each one in his own closed boxes. powered with 4 Lanzar optidrive 2200 amplifiers each delivering 400 Wats in bridge mode. The sound of Lanzar subwoofers is really impressive and correct at any volume level. All amplifiers and sound processors are mounted in the custom enclosures. So far I didnt have to put any cooling fans, as amplifiers have very good efficiency. I already have place for fans, but why put them if amplifiers are not running too hot.
Under the amplifiers I have 4 Exite batteries, capacitors, fuses, etc.
