mike19861999: Insurance isn't to bad on mine, but then again I'm 25 and only have a few points on my insurance. I agree with Silber, maybe you should consider buying a NA car first, then if you decide you like the car and want more power you can swap in a twin turbo motor. The NA's are cheaper, more plentiful and easier on your wallet as far as gas and insurance go....
Silber: Glad you like the Z. Its my baby! Everytime I take it out someone hates on it. Last time it was copenhagan spit on the hood. I think it matters if you got a turbo or not. Mine is Twin turbo and the insurance is the same as a turbo Supra. You might be able to get away with a NA and swap a turbo engine into it. I think the insurance companies can just tell by the vin. If you want everything insured under the hood, you got to show receites, and they will insure it for more. I showed my insurance co. the $17,000 recets for the parts and got it insured for over $35K incase some steels it. I've seen Caviliers running in the 7's 1/4... So your car has more track potential if your into that....
