89iroczman: hello, I have had decent luck setting timming by sound of engine but it is so inaccurate. I invested in a dial advance timing light. I set my initial timing to 12 btdc, my total timing is about 34 degrees at 2500 rpm, you can play with different springs and weights to bring in total total timing at your desired rpm. any more questions feel free.
