Hi. Wow the 74 Gt brings back some memories!!! First day of high school I was in the 10th grade, on my way home from school, i was Hit head on by a man driving a Datsuan Station wagon B-210 It totaled my GT and almost got me. My car looked like a square bale of hay.I spent a while in the hospital and survived. Beleive it or not i would still love to own another one! Nice twin cam too!! Thanks for the memories (Had alot of fun times before my wreck)

Hi Nancy,
It sounds like you're pretty handy with your Vegas. You seem to be the only one working on a stock Vega. Its great that you are keeping it going. I like the looks of the car, but every time I step on the gas, it stalls. Does this happen with yours? Please let me know.
Thanks

Excellent Vegas, especially the rare, original-engined '74 GT - keep it that way. I owned a red/black '74 GT from 1976-1981. It was a very good, reliable daily commuter. Honest!!!

If you need an extra engine, I have one left over from a V-8 swap. I have it advertised for $100, I hate to scap it because they are hard to come by . Its comple minus carb. It has P/S pump, both manifolds, 2pc air cleaner housing, starter, flywheel, and ran good when I pulled it out. Randy

I must say, the 4 cylinder in vegas was one of the worst engines GM ever built. This is coming from numbers. Aluminum block with no liners and a HUGE, goofy cast iron head. They did not last long. Now if you go to my page, you will see the car I have on my page. It is also a piece of crap. But it has a 2.5L iron block/iron head engine. So at least GM got the drivetrain correct in my little beater, the rest of the car is shite, but the engine and tranny is decent. BTW both engines (my 2.5L and the vega's 4 banger) have identical horsepower ratings (a pathetic 90 horsepower) however the vega's may have a touch more torque than mine.

Sweet Vegas, and here I felt like a looser with the stock 140 in my '74! I really don't, its a nice little motor. I got a header, oversize comp cam, and a holly 2-barrel on it. It's got a 4-speed with a Hurst shifter. I gotta get some pics of it up. I also have a '71 Vega convertable w/ no motor. But yea, nice Vegas! check out my '72 Monte Carlo some time...

Like the Vegas! Not very often you see any originals anymore. Come rate my "not original" BLOWN VEGA. Thanks - Randy

Nice Vegas. My Dad used to have a '74 and I always liked the way those cars looked. I still smile when I see one on the road which is pretty rare these days. Keep 'em running!!

Nice cars! My pop bought a 76 Cosworth vega last year and we are trying to do a slight restore on it. My pops car has only 60409 miles on it. How about some more details on your Cosworth I believe it's the only CV on the Domain. More people need to see this car, some Vegas got a bad rep but the Cosworth was a unique machine.

So...which one's pride and which one is joy? Either way they are both fantastic looking. You've got 2 gem H-Body cars there, great work on the Vega hatch!
