hey man that is one serious turbo kit coming together... My advice to you is to build up the motor to handle boost because the 1.6 has a notoriously weak bottom end, shotpeen the rods or replace them with forged, and likewise replace the pistons with forged units... THe 16V motor you have has 9.5:1 compression so you may want to lower that a bit as well. I'm just saying because these engines were designed to be light and cheap, not with any kind of performance in mind. I wouldn't want to see you put all that work into the turbo system just to have the motor blow on you. HIt me up on my site I'd like to know how you plan on setting up your turbo system and stuff. Likewise once you get the standalone going lemme know about that too I was looking at a SDS unit for my swap.

DAMN, that will be awesome with Turbo. Hey, I did the same thing with my Intake. BUT I didnt use any tubing, wont make much of a difference anyway, but I got a huge K&N in there. I took that sensor and drilled a hole and put it o nthe intake too. Took awhile, but well worth it. Mine sounds like a Small V-8! NICE job so far..... let me see the car! Check out mine sometime.

Unfortunately no. Ive been incredibly busy with work. I just got to washing her for the first time in 5 weeks. Yeah, it was filthy. It took me 3 hours to wash and wax. Other than what I have written already, I dont think I have purchased anything more for the project, well, except for the Supra intercooler. I tried test fitting it and it is an incredibly tight squeeze. I might mount it just the slightest bit lower than I would like, but I may have to cut a small notch in the back part of the bumber cover to make it fit. The intercooler may sit about 1/2 an inch below the bumper, but I hope not. Its a real slow process when I need to drive the car to work everyday, and have my weekends booked with helping my girlfriend move, or family functions, or moving myself, ya know.
Anyways, I think I have pictures of the intercooler up now. So Ill keep you updated. Hopefully I can get a manifold made up soon, just so I can mount the turbo and see if it actually works well. Who knows, it may have a bad seal somewhere and it may spit oil all over the engine compartment. Ehh, who knows?

Damn it, I hate Mac's. Never mind its a long story.
Anyways, so far its coming along. I have the turbo(wastegate, oil drain/feed lines, coolant in/out), bypass valve, FMU (thinking about switching to larger injectors and using a SAFC instead), gauges (A/F, Boost, EGT, and Fuel Pressure), Apexi S-ITC (Ignition Timing Controller) and I think I heve a couple more things that I cant think of right now.
I still need an intercooler. Im having trouble finding one thats not outrageously priced, yet one that flows well and has good efficiency. Still need to have a manifold made. I need to learn Japanese (S-ITC). But as for where everything will go and how is will all be hooked up, thats all done. I shouldnt have to modify any of the body or frame to get it to work. There is a pretty good amount of space in there to fit it all, compaired to other cars.
It will take me probably until the end of the summer to get everything all hooked up and tested, but Ill let you all know whats going on and I will add pictures of the process.
