hey, like you car. im jus now replyin to your comments about my dart. well the rims and tires we got are a custom offset in the rear. right now i cant think of the offset but i will get back with you on that. we did mini tub it and moved the fenders i about a 1.5 inches. in the trunk the trunk brackets that have to sprin on them that hold the trunk up, thses were relocated flush with the fender we removed the material that attached to the fender and jus rounded it to the fender. on to the transmission we found a 86' mopar 4 speed w/ overdrive intead of the kiesler, so i cant help you there i do know that kiesler trnsmissions, form reading in mopar mags are pretty straitforward instalation.

I also need decals. when i got the car the only one i had was the "Dodge" on the trunk. I now have the swinger emblems and one "Dart" emblem i also need and emblem that goes beside the "Swinger" but im not sure what its supposed to say i think sport or custom or something like that. anyways its a nice car man

shoot i keep leaving things out that i mean to say.
The 318s put out 230 flywheel horse in '71 and earlier but starting in '72, not only did ratings change, but so did the engines. Compression was dropped, EGR valve was added and various other things changed. Your dart probably doesn't even weigh 3,200 pounds. Probably about 3,000. They were very light cars back then so it didn't take alot of power to move them. It really is about 150. Well, maybe 170 but that's about it at the rear wheels. Flywheel horse on a '72-'74 318 might have been 210. Time the 0-60 or run in in the 1/4 mile. When mine was stock, it did 0-60 in about 11 seconds and the 1/4 in about 18. That's not too fast but now i can do 0-60 rather quik and the 1/4 mile in probably 15 seconds. The exhaust is the real weak point so i'd suggest doing that first. Anyhow, good luck

Maybe the grille is from a plymouth scamp or any number of similar A-body Mopars. The horsepower ratings changed from gross to net in '72 and were that way for a long time. Anyway, thanx for the comment. I changed the page today in my marketing class because i was bored and the page was old. I'll probably add some new pictures as some things have changed.

And also, is the 273 cam in your engine from a stock 273 or the 273 hi-po option cam? And unless the tranny has been swapped, it's a 904. I used to think mine was a 727 also but i checked into it. The 727 is a heavy-duty transmission used behind the 340 and sometimes 360 but the 318 is rated at 150 horsepower from '72-760 and doesn't require a 727. Nice looking Dart. Needs some work but so does mine. I would recommend getting headers and dual exhaust before anything else then a 4 bbl intake and carb.

The grille on your car is from a '75-76 dart. maybe the original one was destroyed or something so they replaced it (with one of a different year for one reason or another)
