Hi everyone,
Thanks for all of the great comments! Much appreciated. I have done some more exploring in this car and unfortunately my only conclusion is that it is beyond saving or resurrecting. The floorboards and trunk pan is mostly all rotted through. The portions of the floors that are not rotted through are soft as are the bottoms of the fenders. The frame is not in much better shape. Just typical of these type of cars and the New England winters. Good thing I did not spend much on this car, but it's condition is pretty much what I expected.
There are lots of great parts on this car. I am sure the parts on this car will go far towards helping other Cougar owners improve their cars and keeping them on the road. If you are looking for parts, just let me know.
Thanks,
Steve

Hey like your Cougar project! Nice find...and that is one for a full resto! Will be worth it money when done. Let me know if I can help in any way. If you need parts try west coast cougar in Oregon. they have about everything you need.

Hey, nice Cougar, you should fix her up... she would be pretty hot. My friend had a 68 when we were teenagers, it was a nice car. Very old nice ride... 5 stars! Come by and check out my 59 Dodge sometime.

Despite the condition it's in, this is a very interesting model, scarce and would be a pretty neat car to say you own! Have any plans to restore it?
