Hey man, I'm not sure about the EVIC - I never wired it up to work, just the interior lights. I think the overhead unit has to match the year and computer revision of your car, so it's hard to match up. Also, your car may not have an interface for it. The compass is built in but the thermometer will need to be installed, they are usually located on the radiators of New Yorkers/Fifth Avenues. Sorry I cant be more help, I sold my Dynasty 2 years ago - check out my 2005 Buick Lacrosse CXS! Peace buddy

Oh ok I understand that you cant get it powered up, you need both sides of the harness, the newyorker has 6 wires the dynasty has 3. you need to run 2 of the extra wires to the engine harness and tap into the black and white-black wires, the third gets grounded. every year new yorker was diffent colors for some reason, you need the year of that car and the diagrams for it and yours to match the colors. I used to have the info but not anymore.

So you got the evic eh, you should post some pics. for the direction and temp you need the module thats on that same newyorker behind the front grill, its a medium sized black box get it and the harness. It'll tell you the temp and direction as soon as you hook it up and it'll allow you to add all sorts of sensors like oil level and shit. get the vin off the donor car or check the glove box for the user manual to get the year and aquire a wire diagram to know what you can hook up.

If you could find a garage to do it, and I'm not saying you would, they would charge you an arm and leg. Its really not hard at all, not to sound pricky but if you can't handle the evic you should forget about moding the car.

I see you found my dynasty page. The Evic is not hard but you have to run some wires, your overhead has 3 wires the evic has 6, 2 of the extra wires you run to your computer and tap into the black and white with black stripe wire, the 6th wire gets grounded. If you want to tempurature and direction to work you need the module behind the grill of the new yorker. when you take it out of a car make a note of what year it is and then any garage should be able to get you a wire diagram.

You'll have to use a test light to test the radio and see if you have power, also I think the old deck grounds the chassis, the aftermarket deck will have a ground wire you'll have to connect to the chassis to make it work. you'll see the metal strap I just connected the wire to that.

A 88 Chrysler NY digital cluster will physically fit, no difference in screw locations or cluster dimensions. What you will have to do is cut off and spice on new cluster connectors that plug the car's electrical system into the cluster. You're gonna want a set of the NYer's cluster connectors plus as much of the wiring still attached to these connectors as you can get. I do not know if an 89 will work, but an 88 will. To spice in the new connectors correctly, you're gonna wanna cross reference the Dynasty's cluster wires with the digital cluster's wires. For instance on the 88 digital cluster, pin 7 of the right connector is a black wire that connects to ground, so you will need to spice that into what used to be the black wire going to pin G of the right analog cluster connector. You then repeat this process until every wire for the digital cluster is connected to the Dynasty's existing electrical system and it will work.

Also for the outside I would tint the windows, and paint the mirrors and rubber trim gloss black, did that on mine and it looked great. you can take the chrome off around the wheel wells and just clean the paint and it'll look good, you just have to put the screws back to hold the splash gardes, I think I tucked mine under the steel or something, makes the car look newer. I have a pic on my first page but my car got smashed up and doesn't look the greatest. I would completly debadge the car too. If you can find older dynasty fenders in good shape they'll have the side light on them that come on for cornering.

My guages were like that from factory in that dynasty. What kind of engine do you have? There are tons of mods you can do. The overhead consol with the fuel milage and stuff from a new yorker can be put in easily. the chrome window switches and vent from the new yorker go good too. You can take the throtel body and intake manifold off a 3.8L and put it on a 3.3 or just the TB off a 3.3 or 3.8 onto a 3.0. The front brakes off a certain modle of caravan will fit too they have bigger rotors. The canadian grill looks a hell of allot better than the american grill, you can see it on page 2 of my dynasty page. the chrome switches and overhead are on page 3. Another thing I would do if I had that car now is move the battery and run an intake tube near the fender well, were I had it is a bad spot. They don't make any performance parts for this car, but you can get spare parts cheap and port them yourself. I just ported the throtle on my grand prix and it makes a difference. let me know how it goes at the scrap yard.
