Thanks for the comments. I JUST created my page like 30 minutes ago. Your car was the first GTO I looked at when I went and searched for them...very nice!
The engine was out of this car and it was an automatic (powerglide). My Dad put a Pontiac 400 in it and it was a lot of fun for years. I'm planning now to put a 470 ci Buick in it with a Tremec T56 6-speed. I'm also planning on some body mods...lengthening the lower rocker panel about 2" (I hate seeing the frame) and the same to the front fender and back qtr panel. I'm also going to remove the 'eyebrows' (drip edges) from over the windows.

Joe,
Thanks for stopping over and checking out my 66' Sprint Optioned Lemans. Looks like you picked up a good one yourself.
Fontain blue is a great color. I had a 66' droptop in that color.
Best of luck with yours.

Holy moly! This really takes me back. I had a 65' Goat when I was in high school, about a million years ago. It was the love of my life. Yours is very clean. Your interior is a perfect original. And that engine is a work of art. I'd stay with the 3.08 rear end however. That's what I had on mine, and could still smoke the tires. Great job. High Five***** Come check out my latest Pontiac.

Terrific goat. My cousin had a 65 Goat and I've liked them ever since. Can't beat a road trip in a 65 GTO! 5*s

Awsome car. I've been a Pontiac since the start. My first car was a 78 Firebird Formula, 2nd car was a 70 GTO with a 4 speed and my 9th car was a 68 numbers matching GTO. The Cutlass is car #15 for me and I love it. I'm going to cruise the 350ci until winter and build the 455ci for next year. 5 BIG STARS FOR YOUR GOAT...

Beautiful GTO! What a great find! If you wanted to change your gears I think you'd like the 3.55s they'll make more power and still good on the highway. I have 3.73s and they're perfect to me. Thanks for your comments on my Bird!

You're right. That '65 GTO is one dream car. A very nice and beautiful model. The stacked headlights and the GTO emblem says it all. You're real lucky to find one in that condition. Must be a real fun to drive. Hope you can post more pictures of it soon. 5 stars for you on that ride!!! Cheers!!!
