I don't find many 1000 utes either, here is the go! Ca18turbo are sometimes hard to find, just keep an eye out at jap importers, there are lots in QLD. CA's are tough and plenty parts to suit.My cousins 1200 with ca has run a 8.88 1/4 mile,
its very tough and modified though. e- amil me psipowered@hotmail if you want to no more.

hey there. yes my ute has an engineers cert and is registered, its a street/ track car, i drive it on the street, but a few things a want to change.
Engine size is limited to a ratio to the weight of the vehicle. My cousin has a datsun 1200 in QLD and could only put a 1.8turbo, same with the 1000ute. Have seen a pic of a 1000 with a nissan ca18 in it or if you want mazda , think of a turbo on the side of an MX5 engine.[ there even rear wheel drive to start, unlike mine].

Hi there, looks like you have a good ute to start your project off.Nice idea about the 13bt but i think you will find like me you can only go 1800cc forced induction, and 13bt is classed as 2600cc.but you never know state to state.
good luck with the ute man.
cheers
