Nice Cherokee bro! I've had two of them myself. I had an '89 and a '93. I like them a lot and I really like the extra room they provide. I used to sleep in mine when camping sometimes. I'm 5'11" and barely fit in the back! But it was still better than a tent. I like what you've done with yours!5*'s!

The 5/30W will be good, but I would run it for the full 3K or 3months,beings oil is getting pretty expensive, but otherwise,Yes.

It's not uncommon to get a litte worst gas mileage, until everything seats in again. It probably is running a little hotter also.
I don't know if you went with an aftermarket cam or not,but that could make a difference also.
Generally,by about 1200 or so miles,it should start feeling smoother, idleing lower, and regaining gas mileage. If you plan on running synthetic, wait until after your first 3K m oil change.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if the finish hone is what is in the pictures, your probably going to have premature ring failure. A finish hone should have 50-60 deg cross hatches.
It requires running the drill around 200 rpm and quickly working the hone from the top to the bottom of the bore, and adjusting as needed to get the right angle of hatches. This keeps you from egging the cylinder also, but the main reason is for the rings, kind of like sharpening a knife with a file.
Filed at an angle while moving across the blade, the knife gets sharp, straight on it gets ruined. That's what the cross-hatch does to the ring for initial break-in. Second,it allows oil to retain to the cylinder walls for ring lubrication. With a straight hone, the rings are going wear away faster and strip away the oil from the cylinder easier, expediating the whole process.
I've built alot of motors over the years, and that was one mistake as a kid that I made.At least it was the first and last time.
Otherwise, the XJ looks great.I really like the roof rack, and to answer your question about the tires...yes they are the TSL SX's.I would say hands down, they are probably one of the toughest tires you can buy for wheeling.I've never had a flat, and they have all around good/great traction.

Hell yeah man, glad to hear you got that beast runnin again! So the window tint you used to do the taillights, was it just your basic run of the mill window tint like from autozone or oreillys?? And was it easy to do?? I have tinted plenty of windows in my past, but they are easy cause the are flat and no edges to go around!! Hopefully with this years tax returns, when I get em in February or whenever I will be getting a 2" lift for my Montero Sport and a set of 17" Chrome and black rims with some 33" tires on it!! Also I stripped the emblems on my montero and am fixin to black out my taillights, I will let you know when I get pics of it up!! Thinkin bout sellin my Jeep man, I never drive the poor thing anymore, if you know anybody interested Ill prolly ask like $3500 obo, its got around $8000 total invested with all the lil things and everything I have done to it!!
