hey man as far as gas i usually get it from caseys or from cfm(gas stations). im not sure exactly where it comes from as far as oil companies or what have you but yah...its all the same price anywhere you go (i.e. shell, mobil, QT, phillip 66 etc.) i dont know if you have either of those out there or not, but it sounds like you have a better deal. it hasnt been 2.99 here in a long time lol.
did you get to see if gas was still 2.99 where you live?

to be honest i really didnt know i was going to go through with it until yesterday lol. i had been looking for a set of polished hood struts for the longest time but as i said...no one seems to make them. you can find them for many other cars, but not ours. then again thats most things right. i get much better pleasure out of doing it myself anyhow haha.
i was looking into an msd ignition system yesterday on firebirdv6.com. it seems really interesting. the person who tested it ran 9 times down the strip and dropped an average of .2 seconds on each pass. they started in bypass mode and ran 15.4's and then turned off the bypass and ran 15.2's they said the most drop they got was .21 so if you think about it there might be a range of .17-.21 seconds. not too shabby. also they tested gas mileage and in bypass mode got an average of 23 mpg and with it engaged got 25.5-26. thats pretty good considering gas prices...it would pay for itself pretty quick lol. speaking of...what are your gas prices out there? ours is $3.39. anyhow the only downfall to the system is its about 400 total by the time you get all the parts. however i did some quick figuring and im thinking it would save you around $4 a week....so two years and it pays for itself.
keep me posted and ill tell you when i get the struts finished and get pics up

And I forgot to answer your question.. yea the Borla Exhaust sounds mean as shit. Everyone that hears it thinks its a V8 and the car keeps up with stock mustang gts and eats (no offense) v6 camaros and firebirds. A guy in a v6 firebird tried to race me the first week i had my car when it was bone stock and i blew him away...so..yea...the exhaust should be louder after it gets dyno tuned as higher horsepower and torque should equal more back pressure resulting in a slightly deeper exhaust..

Is that near Tom's River? If so I'm gonna be goin up that direction next week to get my car dyno tuned at Tune Time. If thats near where you live you should head on up there so i can check your car out in person..Later dude.

Great looking car bud...get yaself some wider wheels and the honeycomb taillights and youll be set. Down here in the deep south, the SLP fanswitch is a nice little addition. I recommend it. As for the handling of my ride, yeah man, it handles extremely well....better than I could have ever imagined. But like anything else, when acting like a dumbass with it, you can get yourself into trouble with it. (like taking a corner at 40 mph faster than you should when 20 mph over was plenty, lol). Take care man, keep up the good work on the 'Bird.

Didn't get the black headlights yet, but it's inevitable. Between shipping and the price it'll be something like 40 bucks.
-
I've been holding off. Planning a "light phase", replacing the headlights and installing fogs in a single day.
-
Oh, I had an idea recently. Instead of using the grille spaces for fogs I *may* cut holes in 2 existing, small impressions in the new spoiler and mount them there instead. Gotta photoshop that and see. I like fogs better when they're mounted lower and wider than the headlights.

yo bro i FINALLY got my washer fluid cap in yesterday after almost 4 months!!!!!! crazy right. do you have power windows??? mine are manual and the drivers side window is sticky. im debating if i want to save up and install power windows when i get the problem fixed or what. if the windows just off track or something then it will be cheap to fix and i probably wont put power windows in but i really have no clue whats wrong so yah we will see.
ill be 20 on the 7th of april so yah its cool....no more being a teen. im hoping to get some cash so i can save up to get the body work done a little later this year.
anything new with your car or just life?

Well, I done did it. The back of the car is finished. Left work early today cause there was nothing to do and nobody to give me any work. Ran out of busy work.
-
Anyway, Still gotta take pics, unfortunately. What I can say is that WOW... it really looks like something Pontiac just should have done but I guess I'm thankful they didn't cause now I got the only one (I ever seen, anyway).
-
I went slightly wider with the black slopes, they start at the corners of the car and ascend to about 1" or so above the plate opening.
-
I also modified the rockers, adding black textured vinyl to eliminate any white. Looks 1000% better as well. Will take pics of that. The car is REALLY shaping up now. Gotta order the tail light covers real soon. Gonna need to have smelling salts in the glove compartment.
