hey, nice car and good choice. it can be relatively cheap to build up a decent street machine with these cars. parts such as aluminum roller rockers, intake manifolds,carbs,and headers that "match" the flow set up (ie: low-end, mid-range, or high-end) will make your car a real tire burner. check out mondellotwister.com and they specialize in olds performance products and are very helpful. make sure to read thier articles about engine building and you may be supprised. they even claim that if you grind out the "egr" bumps just inside the exaust ports(dont have to remove the heads) when puting on headers, then, they claim up to 30hp on that small port job alone. good luck with the project, and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.
