i just want to correct myself. Do not install crankcase breather filter! i just found out , (after driving for two months with a breather hose disconnected from the intake) that my fuel consumption increased significantly. And its bad for the engine too, the vapours from the valve cover must be vacuumed out!

nice custom intake!, i'll be rebuilding my intake too but due to the LPG gas conversion. Anyway i think you should install NGK blue ignition wires, they are sold on ebay for Acura Legend. it would match that blue hose. And you could also install a crankcase breather small filter on that blue hose, instead of connecting it to the intake. Thats what i'm planning to do, i'm not sure whether this is good thinking or not tho.

I was looking at the pics of the work you did on your car and it reminded me of another project in my rebuild, which is now days from starting. i would like to improve the air intake system, both for the purposes of the car's performance and for the cleaning of air that circulates through the system into the cab. with all the oil buildup currently on my motor from the blown front motor mount (which replacing) i get fumes in the cab unless i set the heat for interior recirculating. do you have any ideas about how to filter the air that comes into the cab? how do you like the air filter modification you did? granted, i'm dicussing two sepatare issues here, but both are important to address. tx again. you sure have done a nice job with your sterling.

I'm rebuilding my 91 Sterling 827sl to like new condition top to bottom. (The paper boy's mother crashed into mine when she came in the middle of the night to rescue her idiot son.) Seeking a whole Sterling to buy (will consider any condition) or parts. Currently seeking RH front and rear doors and rear bumper, pref in grey (the greenish, silver color) also in need of new or excellent quality used motor mounts, and an upper radiator hose. If you have one to sell in any condition please email me at shellybernstein@comcast.net I love these cars and will take excellent care of any that come my way. I may choose to restore one I buy from you instead of mine! anyone out there who can help me?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hey, cool sterling!
You lot seem to struggling to find parts for them, in europe and the UK these cars are called Rover 800's ie 820 825 and Rover 827 and I believe you have the Honda V6 engine one so other american Hondas with V6's may be able to help. Check the the Rover pages on this site or look at http://www.austin-rover.co.uk/sterlinglttf.htm

Forgo to mention the car is mechanically identiacal to the 2.7 litre Acura Legend all the engine/transmision/front suspension is identical, and the parts are interchangable

My wife works for a towing company, and they just towed in an 827s. It's in ok shape, no rust I could see, 45k miles. There looks like there were electrical issues because the panel covering the wires underneath the dash is off. The owner didn't speak english but mentioned clutch, so it probably needs a clutch.
The reason I'm posting this is that I know Sterlings are rare and I hoped someone could use this car before it gets scrapped. You can buy it (with a title) for around $200 from the towing company, but it will be gone soon.
Email me at citnashjeep@nospam.comcast.net if interested (remove "nospam" from the email address).

Nice mods, and nice condition. I have the same black type 1989 827SLi with tan leather and low miles (114K, but odo shows 87K after warrenty replacement at 27K in 1992). It needs body rust fixes (not driven when had company cars, but we lived in Cleveland until '93 and again '98-'02). It runs exceptionally well but is showing age with electrical crotchets, stuck (open) hood & hatchback release cables (use key), worn rack-pinion window tracks. How about yours?
