You should use 10 gauge wire for 30 and 87, 16 gauge is plenty for 85 and 86.
I'd look into why the fan isn't coming on in the first place, it should be an easy fix. I've seen the relay burn out before, it's in the little black box in front of the driver's side strut. It could also be the temp sensor... there are two... the small one for the temp gauge has one wire, it's in the passenger side end of the front cylinder head. The one you should be looking at has two wires. It's by the thermostat housing. The engine computer uses this one to adjust fuel mixture, and activate the cooling fan. You'll need to unbolt the coil pack to get at it, but you can see it without taking anything off.

Hey, if you haven't gotten information on how to wire in a relay here:
Go ahead and get a 30A automotive relay from a electrical store or your local auto parts store.
Pin 30 would be going to the + source
Pin 85 should be going to the switch
Pin 87 should be going to the fan
Pin 86 should be going to ground -
Try to use 12-14 gauge wiring for all this. Tell me how it works out. This should work for your radiator fan.
