Hey, I love the work you did on this car! I've got the same model, and I'm looking to get it fixed up, but I don't have a lot of money. Could I get a little more detail on where you got the parts and how much you got them for?

Nice car! I saw you are in Florida. You should check out www.FloridaGerman.com. It's a car club for German car enthusiasts in Florida. We have regular meets and would be great to see the car! See you there!

Have fun! The museum is rather small, but still very interesting and definitely worth if if you love Mercedes-Benz! If you call ahead, you can also have a free factory tour. It is located at their M-class factory in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Here are some links about the museum:

Beautiful car! You mentioned a Benz museum in Alabama. Where at? I'm trying to go to a Chrysler Imperial, and Packard meet in Anniston Al. in Sep. I'd like to hit the Benz museum. My brother and I each own Benz Wagons. Mine's an 83, his an 88.

After looking at the before and after shoots of the grill, I know what I'm going to do. Can you say black out?

Well, sort've, see page 5. I had an aftermarket grill so I couldn't just disassemble it like a stock one. I spent hours taping it up perfectly with painters tape. Then I used a spray-on truck bed liner. If you leave your grill on like I did, be sure to cover the sides with newspaper to protect your car's paint

Happy New Year! I'm Bob from the Philippines. I just can't but help to view your page. I admire how well you have cared for your benzs specially the 300D-T! recently acquired 1 myself. Also an '85 300D-T AT. Basically restored but needs fine tuning, mechanical and aesthetic wise. I was hoping if you could help and assist me in restoring my ride to its "brand new-old form".. Hahaha! look at my links for (as far as I can tell) the most comprehensive listing of W123 related links and part suppliers online. Also a great link to a W123 step-by-step repair site.

Look around the hood-hinge bays inside your engine compartment. Clear it of all debris. Also, take off your front passenger's side wheel-well's fender liner, and unplug the water drain hole connecting to the hood-hinge bay. Your car may have been involved in a wreck previously? Either way, I'm 95% sure there is a crack somewhere in the engine firewall/water drainage holes. Spray water in small localized spots until you find which spot leaks through to your interior. (Hold the spray in each spot for a minute as the water seeps through slowly.) Buy some rubberizer and/or some type of sealant and seal up the hole, but be sure to leave a wide-open drainage pipe for future drainage. For your backseat floorboard... Depending on the location of your rust hole: There is actually a drainage plug in the floor. If needed, Rip it out(You can buy a new one from an MB dealership for about $0.98)(perhaps cut through the top plastic covering). Now you can sand/weld/prime/seal etc until you're content with your work and waterproofing. Hopefully that will help you out.
I guess I should note that even though the water is in the back seat, it more than likely originates in the hood-hinge bays or nearby area and leaks through to the front passenger floor-board before sliding back to the rear passenger floor-board.
Hope that helps!

I've never particularly looked into that question... What I do know, however, is that @ Safelite window repair they require you to buy the the chrome front & rear window strips from the dealership. Well, that's what they told me anyways. I didn't need new chrome, so I didn't press the issue.
The door trim... no idea. Try calling here:

Now, if you mean the mid-body rubber moldings w/the chrome strip, those are hard to come by as their price skyrocketed a few months ago. Not sure about the market value lately. Best bet is to find those in a junkyard.
If I randomly find out something, I'll try to give you a shout
