Nice elco! Thats cool that you were able to do the body work. There are some good vids on youtube for fixing the dent on the fender if you want to do it.

Dude . . . saw the flight suit. Are you a pilot? I am a retired F-15E driver. Did you ever get any word back from the guy with the SS type dash and new guages. I would really like to upgrade my whole dash panel. Great car and cheers!

Thanks for checking out my El Camino. The paint job is still really looking good, but I'm having a problem where the door handles were shaved (basically wasn't done right), so it looks like I'm going to have to re-do it. Nothing like taking the time and doing it right the first time. Take care and keep me posted on what's up.

Nice Looking El Camino. I personally wish I would have got a 3rd Gen myself, but I got a good deal on mine so I couldn't pass it up. Good luck

Both of your Caminos look awesome, and you deserve those awards. I especially love the grabber orange/black stripes scheme of the first. Anything will look good on the other besides tacky yellow or white. Keep up the good work my man!

Thanks for the kind words. The side pipes are VERY loud! When they’re new, they’re packed with fiberglass to muffle the sound but overtime, the fiberglass becomes less effective (or gets blown out) and car get louder. They sound like straight pipes now.
You asked about some of the original equipment on the ’73 SS. Your best bet is to search the web for information. http://www.chevelles.com/shop/ss_ident.html is a good starting place. My ’73 SS is actually a composite. I didn’t really care about keeping it all original since I started with a junker. It has parts from several El Caminos and Malibus spanning 1973 through 1975. Plus, it was originally an automatic. I converted it to a Muncie M20 four speed. If you find an original 1973 El Camino SS with a 4-speed, I’d be surprised. I’ve been to car shows and cruise nights for years and I’ve never seen one.
Your ’72 El Camino is sweet! Is it a 4-speed? And the engine bay looks great on your ’76.

You can give me a call @ 207-1570 or I can call you sometime this week and talk el caminos or sometin, that'd be cool
