Eibach Sportline Installation by Drift Office

A whopping 63% of you voted for the Eibach Sportline Kit, and Eibach rushed the springs right to our door. Our friends at Drift Office installed the Eibach springs

Drift office sent us some notes on the install:

  • The Scion's construction is concise and simple as evident in the pictures.
  • The front strut casings/housing assembly came off simply after removing the front strut tower nuts. Getting to them was a whole different story.
  • Spring compressors were used to remove the stock springs, which were replaced with the supplied Eibach springs. The entire housing was then reassembled and fitted snugly in its intended place. No issues with fitment at this point.
  • Rear suspension assembly on the other hand, was a bit tricky. We had to rip up a fair bit of the interior to get to the struts and had difficulty compressing the springs enough to get them back in place. But our fearless tech overcame this problem with sheer brute force.
  • After replacing the interior and taking the car off the rack, the overall stance of the vehicle was now lowered between a ¼ and a ½ inch, with a slight rake in the front, transforming the TC into a more "manly" looking car.

Installation of the Brakes by CarDomain

Power Slot rotors and Hawk pads went on great. Our own Art Resurreccion handled the install over at his place this weekend. Art had a chance to drive the car a bit before doing the rotor swap, and said he was actually quite happy with the stock brakes. He even wondered if the Power Slot rotors and Hawk pads were going to make a significant difference. But of course no true enthusiast will settle for stock!

The tC brakes were very easy to dismantle since they only had a few hundred miles on them–they'd barely had a chance to settle in. It only took Art about two hours to replace the front and rear rotors, along with the front pads. Hawk currently doesn't offer rear pads, but we're sure they're working on it.

Breaking in the new rotors and pads is crucial. Art followed Power Slot's recommendation and performed a series of 35mph to 5mph slowdowns, followed by a series of 50mph to 10mph slowdowns. Afterwards, Art said they felt awesome! Definitely a worthwhile upgrade.
