I have a new email address and I forgot my password.

Please send the following email to community_admin@cardomain.com with the following subject "Password Recovery: Change in Email":

  • Your Member ID
  • Your first and last name
  • The original email address this page was set up under
Note: Because of the difficulty in confirming the true owner of a Member account, your request to have the password recovered may be denied.

How to change your Member ID

Your Member ID can not be changed. It is set in stone once you create a page with a Member ID. You will have to delete your current account and setup a new account under the desired name.

However, once the new account is created, you will be able to transfer the vehicles associated with the old Member ID into the new account.

NOTE: See How to delete your Member account and vehicle page

I haven't received my Member email confirmation and password.

There are several reasons why a Membership, confirmation email hasn't been delivered.

Possible reasons why the confirmation email never made it to its destination:

  • Required information was never successfully completed.
  • Mistyped the email address
  • Member's email provider recognizes our email as Spam.
Find out if s/he has user options to allow for it. Some have a simple Spam/Bulk Mail folder
  • E-mail server is down on either end.
If all else fails, have our system re-send you your password to make sure there are no mistyped letters, etc.

Note: See Resend your password

My Member ID and password aren't being accepted

Logging in can be a little difficult. Do not cut and paste the Member ID or password; cutting and pasting can result in an extra space being inserted. Also you could be already logged in after a previous attempt, even though the browser might be telling you otherwise. To check, hit the vehicle pages link on the top nav bar to find out (look to the left hand menu bar to find log-in status of the resulting page).

If trouble persists, attempt to restart your browser by closing all the windows and reopen with a fresh one.

If all else fails, have our system re-send you your password to make sure there are no mistyped letters, etc. Note: See Resend your password

Try doing a more specific search. For example, enter in your location, your make, your model, and the model year of your vehicle. Note: Hidden vehicles do not show up in searches.

Why do you require me to merge my accounts?

You may be asked to merge your accounts after logging into CarDomain if you have used the same e-mail address to set up more than one account in the past. CarDomain no longer allows you to use an e-mail address for multiple accounts. We recently added the feature to allow log-in to your member account using your e-mail address and password for your CarDomain account. We have also added the ability to retrieve a forgotten password by entering your e-mail address. If you are asked to merge accounts, the following will apply:

  • You will be asked to pick one of our existing accounts to be the "primary" account. This is the account you will use after the merge is complete.
  • Ride Pages for all accounts will be moved to the primary account.
  • Friends Lists for all accounts will be moved to the primary account.
  • Personal Guestbook entries for all accounts will be moved to the primary account.
  • Product Reviews for all accounts will be moved to the primary account.
  • Favorite Links will be moved to the primary account.
  • Only the primary account will be available after the merge. All of the other accounts will be removed from CarDomain.
  • NONE of your data will be removed or deleted. We will move all of your data into the primary account you selected.

Members with over 20 vehicles will need to contact the community administrator to coordinate the account merge.

If you have any questions, please contact community_admin@cardomain.com

After having found the image press the "Upload Image" button. This will begin the upload process of transferring the data from the local drive to the Internet server.

How do I have the images appear on my vehicle page?

After uploading the images, it is time to decide how they will appear on the vehicle page. This is fairly simple, even to those unfamiliar with HTML.

  1. Click on the "Add Picture" button.
  2. When prompted, enter the number for the picture you want to display. The number is located beneath the thumbnail of the image.
  3. Enter "Left" "Center" or "Right" for how you would like the image to be placed.
  4. Click "OK" and the code for the picture will be automatically inserted on to your page.

How do I add video or sound to my vehicle page?

It is possible to have sound on your vehicle page, however, it isn't possible to upload it into the CarDomain server (only JPEG, GIF, and BMP files). It would require sourcing the sound file from another location.

Having this script will slow down the performance of the vehicle page and isn't encouraged. Sound files can be large and take a long time for other Members to load. Hence, this is not something we encourage.

How do I re-order my pages?

There is no tool to automatically re-order the pages. Re-ordering pages on vehicle sites isn't difficult. If page one's content is to be switched with page six, simply select all the content in page one, cut and paste it into page six (update changes) and then select the content from page six and paste it into page one (update changes).

How do I remove a page?

  1. To remove a page, start by logging into the Member Lobby.
  2. In the left hand navigation, select the vehicle for which you'd like to remove a page.
  3. At the bottom of the page is a link for you to delete this page.

Performance figures such as 0-60 time, quarter mile time, and sound pressure level are verified by submitting official results from a recognized sanctioned organizer. Documents may be faxed to 206-926-2299. Be sure to include your Member ID with your submission.

Submitted documents must be legible and unaltered. CarDomain.com reserves the right to refuse any submitted document.

CarDomain Community Questions:

Someone is harassing me, how do I get them to leave me alone?

If another community Member is harassing or become excessively opinionated to the point of belligerence, report him/her to CarDomain Customer Service. Visit their vehicle page and click on the Report Abuse link at the top of their page. While everyone is entitled to differing points of view, CarDomain will not tolerate inappropriate behavior. Listed below are some, but not all, violations that may result in termination of a CarDomain account:

  1. Post, transmit, promote, or distribute content that is illegal, that encourages illegal activity, or that infringes upon the copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, publicity right or other intellectual property or proprietary right of any third party.
  2. Transmit or facilitate distribution of content that is defamatory, harmful, threatening, harassing, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive, vulgar, sexually explicit, pornographic, obscene, or objectionable in a reasonable person's view.
  3. Pretend to be anyone whom you are not. You may not impersonate another Member, a CarDomain staff Member, or anyone else. You may not post content regarding a vehicle not owned by you.
  4. Post content not owned by you or have permission to use.
  5. Attempt to get a password, other account information, or other private information from a Member, or harvest email addresses or other information.
  6. Post any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or any other forms of solicitation.

Is nudity allowed on here?

Pornography, obscenities, and defamatory postings are not allowed anywhere on CarDomain. Postings of this kind will be removed immediately, and a violation will be issued to the Member responsible for the posting (several violations will result in the termination of your account). If you see any pornographic, obscene or defamatory postings, please report it immediately. Click on the Report Abuse link at the top of the offending page.

How do I report inappropriate material?

How do I become Showoff of the Week?

The Showoff of the Week will be chosen by our staff from one of the top 25 nominees (ranked by votes) at the close of each period, 11:59 PM (Pacific) every Wednesday. The winner will be announced on the homepage of our site the following Monday and featured on the site for the remainder of the week. The polls open for the next week at 12:00 AM (Pacific) every Thursday.

We are looking for the Members who have a unique vehicle, cool photos, interesting modifications, or a helpful page to fellow Members!

When will my ride be on the main list?

As we've got over a million Members now and with all of those vehicle pages to review, it can take a couple of weeks or so to review the pages. Once that is complete, they will get listed with all of the other Members' vehicles and added to our searchable database.

First, make sure all the information inputted into the profile is as specific and accurate as possible. Then narrow the search parameters to find your vehicle.

Also vehicle pages are listed in order of stars. Stars are the result of votes received from other Members. Thus, if your car has a five star rank, then look for it among other five star cars, and so on.

If you've found your car in its category listing, but then the next day it isn't there anymore, don't worry, it's still there. Chances are, its either moved up or down in the star ranking and hasn't appeared in its new location yet (check your vehicle page to see your current ranking).

How are the Top Rated vehicle pages chosen?

Top Rides vehicle pages located in the vehicle page arena are not chosen by CarDomain staff Members, but by Members. The Top Rides are chosen by the amount of recent traffic and votes received.

The exception are the verified Top Rides. Performance figures such as 0-60 time, quarter mile time, and sound pressure level are verified by submitting official results from a recognized sanctioned organizer. Documents can be faxed to 206-926-2299. Be sure to include your Member ID with your submission.

Submitted documents must be legible and unaltered. CarDomain.com reserves the right to refuse any submitted document.
