NHRA Sport Compact World Finals

If you're into sport compact drags, there was only one place to be Saturday. The atmosphere at the Pomona Raceway was electric, as competitors from around the country fired up evil racing machines and screamed down the strip to tempt fate and chase glory. Now I have to say, when I first heard about the front wheel drive drag scene, I was a little skeptical. But I talked with Chris Rado a few months back, and his enthusiasm was contagious. So safe to say, after watching some sick FWD dragsters run sixes, you can officially call me a fan. Here are the official results. For more about the races, check out the series official site.

World Champions for 2006: Brad Personett (Pro RWD), Ed Bergenholtz (Pro FWD), Paul Efantis (Modified), Ron Lummus (Hot Rod), and Jeremy Lookofsky (Honda Tuning All Motor).
