Truck fans from all over the Golden State converged on Irvine last weekend for the California Truck Jam. From low riders and restored classics to brand new SUVs stuffed with video screens, there was something for everybody.
The monster truck demonstration was definitely the highlight of the afternoon. I could have watched it all day but I imagine keeping a beast like that running for any length of time is stressful. It's hard to put a finger on exactly what the appeal of the monster truck is, but there's just something awesome about watching those giant tires crush helpless cars! Unfortunately, the burnout contest was plagued by problems. There should have been some kind of line lock, because most of the trucks were too powerful for the wheel chalks.
Overall, this show was a lot of fun. See you at the next one!
